GSM Thermometers with Long Stainless Steel Probes Display Temperature Online in COMET Cloud

The client specializes in purchasing and processing wood material, which is then supplied as biomass and wood chips to heating plants and power stations across the Czech Republic. For this customer, we manufactured long stainless steel penetration thermometers with temperature measurement and data transmission to an online platform.

Our Solution
For measurement and data transmission, we used the U0141G GSM data logger with 4G network support. Thanks to its four input channels, the data logger measures temperature at two levels within the probe section. An additional ambient sensor measures the surrounding air temperature. This allows for comparison between the temperature development inside the biomass and the outside environment.
We manufactured long stainless steel probes with a pointed penetration tip. The hardened stainless steel ensures strength and durability, allowing the probe to be inserted deep into the biomass. The device itself is mounted in a stainless steel cradle, which features an extended edge to protect the unit from mechanical damage.
A data SIM card is inserted into the device. The customer can provide their own SIM card, or we can supply a preloaded data SIM card with a lifespan of up to 10 years. Measured data is transmitted via GSM signal, similar to a mobile phone. The recorded data is processed and evaluated in the COMET Cloud platform, provided by COMET System.
